I am a Certified Holistic Creative Therapist and Ikigai Life Coach with a deep passion for supporting women’s wellness through creativity and self expression.
With years of experience in facilitating creative art workshops, I specialise in using art, mindfulness, and therapeutic techniques to help individuals build confidence, manage stress, and find purpose in their lives. Creativity has played a profound role in my own personal wellbeing. It was through discovering textile art that I first experienced the transformative power of creativity for healing and self-discovery. Engaging in creative practices helped me navigate challenges, find resilience, and reconnect with my sense of self. This personal journey led me to explore how creative expression can support mental and emotional wellbeing, inspiring me to train as a Holistic Creative Therapist to help others access these same benefits.
I am particularly passionate about working with women, providing safe and nurturing spaces where they can explore their strengths, reconnect with their creativity, and develop resilience. As an advocate for mental health reform, I have spoken at Women’s Parliament in Stormont on the need for improved mental health care in rural communities and the importance of prioritising social prescribing to combat loneliness. My work is inspired by a commitment to making mental health and wellbeing support accessible, and using creative therapy to bridge the gaps in traditional support systems.
My work is rooted in the belief that creativity is a powerful tool for healing, empowerment, and community connection. Through my courses, workshops, and wider practice, I align with the following four key areas:
1. Wellbeing & Mental Health Support
I am committed to providing creative therapeutic experiences that support mental health, emotional resilience, and personal growth. My approach prioritises self-expression, mindfulness, and social connection as key components of holistic wellbeing.
2. Creativity as a Catalyst for Change
Art and creativity are transformative tools that allow individuals to explore their identity, emotions, and personal narratives. My programmes use creative expression as a means of self-discovery, holistic healing, and empowerment, particularly for women, rural communities, and marginalised groups.
3. Community Engagement & Social Impact
I believe in the power of collective support. My work extends beyond individual wellbeing, fostering strong, inclusive communities through collaboration with organisations that prioritise women’s wellness, LGBTQ+ advocacy, rural development, and social justice.
4. Advocacy & Policy Influence
Through research, public speaking, and engagement in policy discussions, I advocate for improved access to mental health support, creative therapy, and social prescribing. My involvement in initiatives such as the Women’s Health Strategy for Northern Ireland ensures that my work contributes to meaningful systemic change.
Overall, it was a wonderful experience that left me feeling refreshed, uplifted, and inspired. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a gentle yet powerful way to nurture their well-being."
